I got an email from a connection who commented that I had a good idea with my blog. Billye mentioned that she could not get invite refills. I questioned her a little more on this and it does seem that LI is not giving her more invites because she got too many IDK’s. Like all things LI there is no way to tell. LI likes to keep it’s secrets, but from what she told me it does appear she is being put on restriction for too many IDK. This brings to light the first concrete example I have found that it is critically important if you plan to keep growing and using your network to use safe methods when making connections. Using OpenLink, InMail, and open networking groups I believe will help keep you on LI’s good side.
BTW Billye’s profile is interesting because she has a talent for helping people polish their profile to be attractive to potential employers. Her profile reflects a fusion of this talent and another very important aspect of profile building which is talking to the profile viewer in a way that is meaningful to them. She lets the viewer know what benefits they can expect from being her connection.
Since Billye is (temporarily we hope) out of invites she needs our help to expand her network. You can send her an invite at blsurvis@ra.rockwell.com Just go to add contacts and enter her email address on the right where it says “Enter Email Addresses” and click “send invites”. It only takes a second and I think you’ll find she is a good connection to have.
